Why we started MOFE

 ​We believe that strong public education is the cornerstone of a healthy democracy and a thriving economy. We work at the intersection of education, equity, and civic engagement to ensure that every child—regardless of geography, income, or identity—has access to safe, inclusive, and well-funded public schools.

In 2025 alone, MOFE:

• Helped pass 9 out of 12 local school levies in districts where we organized support

• Won every single school board race where we endorsed a candidate

• Helped to secure critical state-level victories, including:

  • New investments in teacher support through the STARS Act

  • Dedicated dollars for essential school maintenance

MOFE was working hard to make this progress happen –on the ground, at the Capitol, in the inboxes of voters and legislators alike.

MOFE is uniquely positioned to:

• Mobilize communities to pass local bonds and levies that keep schools open and staffed

• Mobilize communities to support school board policies that benefit all students

• Hold legislators accountable through the Interim School Funding Commission and into the 2027 session

• Respond rapidly when disinformation threatens students, teachers, and local control​
